Laura Read wins AWP Prize

Our 2010 Floating Bridge Chapbook Award winner, Laura Read of Spokane, has just won the 2011 Donald Hall Prize in Poetry, judged this year by Dorianne Laux. Read more about the prize here.

We're pretty sure you want to purchase her winning chapbook, The Chewbacca on Hollywood Boulevard Reminds Me of You, so you can begin to understand Laura Read's talent.

Congratulations, Laura!

Here's a list of just a few of our chapbook authors with national recognition: Nance Van Winckel, Molly Tenenbaum, Timothy Kelly, Nancy Pagh, Kelli Russell Agodon, Chris Forhan.

We are excited to announce too that Annette Spaulding-Convy, author of In the Convent We Become Clouds, was a finalist for the Miller Williams Poetry Prize this spring, and her book, In Broken Latin, will be published by University of Arkansas Press in 2012.

What a spring our poets are having!
