Congratulations Jack Straw Foundation!

We just wanted to give a shout out to Jack Straw Foundation for being singled out by the Mayor of Seattle for their extraordinary contribution to the Arts Community. They are the more-than-worthy recipients of a 2011 Mayor's Arts Award.

Jack Straw has been a great friend to Floating Bridge Press. They give us office space and subsidize our rent, offer us a venue for our readings and record them, and they help us get the word out about our events through their webpage and emails. And Jack Straw takes wonderful care of the writers in Western Washington through the Jack Straw Writers Program. If you have not applied, we think you should! Look for their applications in the fall.

Hats off, Jack Straw! You really bring the arts community together.

Congratulations, Laura!

Here's a list of just a few of our chapbook authors with national recognition: Nance Van Winckel, Molly Tenenbaum, Timothy Kelly, Nancy Pagh, Kelli Russell Agodon, Chris Forhan.

We are excited to announce too that Annette Spaulding-Convy, author of In the Convent We Become Clouds, was a finalist for the Miller Williams Poetry Prize this spring, and her book, In Broken Latin, will be published by University of Arkansas Press in 2012.
